I really do believe that a better and fairer world is within reach, but sadly we can’t rely on the politicians we have now to change this.

I got involved with the Green Party after a long time of being disillusioned and fed up. I ended up lobbying the government at a national level when I couldn’t finish my apprenticeship because of Covid, and seeing how badly they handled things at every level made me really angry. It was Covid that made me realise that politics is the only way we can change our futures. We have to make things fairer.

I joined the Green Party 18 months ago. I contacted my local party, Trafford Green Party, as I knew they were campaigning and I wanted to help. I went out and did some leafleting; it felt like a very positive and productive thing to do.

Six months later, I became a candidate for the Green Party, and six months after that I became a Councillor! Now I’m standing as the Green Party candidate for Greater Manchester Mayor.

As well as being a Councillor, I work full time as a plumber. I love my job and I’m currently retraining in renewables.

I really do believe that a better and fairer world is within reach, but sadly we can’t rely on the politicians we have now to change this. We need more Greens as councillors in local authorities, as mayors in city regions and in Westminster speaking up for all of us.

Each time I come home after campaigning, speaking to people, I feel more energised and connected to the bigger picture.

Politics has become so polarised. The Green Party offers sensible solutions for people and planet.
